Pitch-out: Brian Meyers
4/10/09 by Mike Raber

The league's favortie column has returned! To kick of the forth year of the KWL, we decided that there would be no one better to debut the pitch out in 09', then our very own league Commish, Brian Meyers.

Brian grew up in the small town of Three Oaks, Michigan (yes, the home of Prancer the movie). However, growing up, the leagues "Big Ticket" could not manage to stand out in town population of less 2,000. Even though he takes home KWL hardware each year, he only managed to win one trophy growing up, "Most Improved" in little league.

When not dancing on the deck to "Blame it on the Rain", Brian was playing wiffleball in the backyard with his older brother. He recalls hitting his first left handed homerun while pretending to be Ken Griffey Jr., however growing up as a fat kid left him as no stranger to using his left hand (that's a masterbation joke, folks).

After High School, Brian attended Lake Michigan College, where he earned a degree in Industrial Maintenance (seriously?). However, his biggest accomplishment from College, was hooking up with his wife Katie (very nice!).

You will find Brian's name sprinkled throughout the KWL record books (do note, he has KWL's only perfect game), however his biggest contributions to the league happen off the field as the league's Commish. Handling day to day operations and working with the parks department to keep the KWL growing.

What is your most memorable moment from the KWL?
When I threw the Hot Dog for a strike against Mike Downs in the 07' Allstar game! I can still here Daryl saying "He threw a hot dog!?!"

So Commish, In a Game, the batter hits a ball splitting it right down the center with half the ball flying out of the park and the other half being caught, what is the final ruling?
It really wouldn't matter what the call is, Adam Bontrager would be yelling at me for our league balls being crappy!

What type of animal is Snuffaluffagus?
A Snuff-al-luf-a-saurus. They are an endangered species, however there is a chance that Don Kern is part Snuff.

Would your rather: Be saved by Superman or meet Winnie the Pooh?
Why bother? Definately Winnie the Pooh! Hopefully he would show me around like Chistopher Robin.

What is something people may not know about you?
I spent my 21st Birthday in Intensive Care at the University of Chicago Hospital, after having a tumor removed from my right lung.

What are you looking forward to the most in the upcoming season?
Our new jerseys! Well, that and meeting all the new players!
