Crowded NL South by Brian Meyers 7/19/2011

For the second straight season, the NL South could be decided on the final night of the season.  Two teams, Ponyboys and Hitless, remain just one game back of the Division leading Kentucky Waterfalls who have held the NL South for the entire season.

Waterfalls: The final 4 games of the season look bleak if you are wearing Waterfall colored sleeveless!  This Thursday, they will take on the red hot Golden Ponyboys in the week 13 GOTW.  Rensch, who only has one remaining start, is schedule to pitch game two.  After the Waterfalls finish up this week, they will head into the final regular season game to face Kuzmin and Ayres, Hitless’s two best hurlers.

Ponyboys: You can’t exactly say they are golden, but they certainly could be in a lot worse position!  Still alive for the Division crown, a sweep of the Waterfalls can just about give them that.  The Ponyboys will finish the season against the 4-19 Sidewinders.

Hitless:  The boys in blue have begun to make a name for themselves as they once again make a clutch final push towards the playoff.  Last year they forced a Game 29 play-in game, but lost to the Itchers.  This year, they can avoid the play-in all together if the Waterfalls lose one game to the Ponyboys and sweep the Waterfalls on the final week.
